LETTERS – Considered houses nearby?

Question for Coun Nick Worth re: Revamp for new 3G floodlit football pitch and games area on Castle Sports field (Voice 13-6-22)

Have you considered the impact of all the residents whose houses back onto this field? This field is now “lawless”.

There are parties with very loud music, drug taking, barbecues on the grass causing fires, drinking and youths urinating everywhere from early evening until 1-2am with no deterrent from either the police or council.

Now you’re proposing plans for floodlights for a new football pitch etc!

This will not only illuminate our gardens and houses but introduce further activity to this area, depriving the residents of even more peace and privacy to our already unusable gardens. Unless of course you have incorporated in the plans 20ft high fencing on everyone’s boundary?

Where are the cars and coaches to be parked? This area would not be large enough to cope with all the vehicles.

Can you not “redevelop” the Halley Stewart field which is already meant and being used as a football ground with adequate parking facilities opposite?
