LETTERS – Blame lies with the public

I am writing in reply to G Kent’s letter concerning charity shops.

Firstly I work in a Spalding shop. People should have been well aware not to leave bags of goods outside these shops as they are closed.

So my point is that the blame lies with the public, not the shop.

As far as payment for staff, ie managers who have to run them, we as volunteers are not paid but are willing to give our time in helping.

What about doing this yourself? It is rewarding.

I have helped for ten years.
