LETTERS – Advice for Pennygate patients

With the retirement of Dr Nathu and the movement of the Spalding practice to Johnson Hospital, Healthwatch Lincolnshire is aware that a number of patients are concerned about the practicalities of the move and the future of GP services at the Pennygate end of town.

Healthwatch is hearing concerns focusing on how to access the service at Johnson both in terms of physically getting there, how to contact the practice and where to get repeat prescriptions.

All patients should be aware of an information pack which has been produced explaining the commonly asked questions.

If you need a copy of the pack please contact us.

Sarah Fletcher CEO of Healthwatch said: “We hope that for most patients the move to GP services at Johnson Hospital will be positive, but we still have concerns for those patients who are frail and vulnerable that may find the new arrangement difficult.”

South Lincolnshire will be inviting the local community to comment and have their say on the future.

A formal consultation process will commence early October and we will keep local residents informed of any information we receive.

However in the meantime if you would like to share your views which will be passed on, please contact on us 01205 820892 or email [email protected]
