LETTER: When is Holbeach country fair AGM?

Having recently had a social evening get-together of motoring enthusiasts in our group who attend shows and events in the region, much comment was made about the running of this year’s Holbeach Town and Country Fair.

The fair seems to have had some recent criticism as to how many people attended plus how much gate money was taken, with the reply from two of the organisers pointing out they made a loss rather than their earlier quoted “best show ever”.

It appears the visitor figures were not as first given to the press although until that point they did not correct these figures but basked in the glory of these totals being right until readers started complaining they were not the case and the real explanation appeared.

In the reply to the points raised it was noted that these two organisers have said if anybody wants to offer suggestions or help towards next year’s event, they should attend the AGM, although so far no date has been made public.

Apart from last year’s event, which seems to have been a private event, previous AGMs have been made public in the local press as can be found on the internet still.

So if the date, time and place of this year’s AGM are made public in the same press then we will attend.

People read the local press as not everybody is on any or all forms of social media, as the press have done a sterling job in the past and can be relied upon.

We await the details as requested via this very newspaper.
