I wanted to pass on my thanks to the medical staff at Beechfield Medical Centre in Spalding.
A few weeks ago I started to have symptoms I had never experienced – extreme cold, sickness, a raging temperature alongside severe aches and burning pain in the whole of my body. I was really worried as I hadn’t experienced anything like this before and for the first time ever I was really scared. I did a LFT which came up negative.
I started to feel worse and worse, so I went to Beechfield Surgery where I’ve been a patient for 49 years (which includes the time Beechfield was at Church Street).
They said it was a virus and they told me to return if things didn’t improve. Instead I got worse, to the point I was struggling to eat and have since lost 11lbs.
I spoke with Dr Shah who asked me to take a urine sample, but I could barely get out of bed so I had to ask my grandson-in-law Jamie to take it in.
I rang the surgery to get the results to be told the sample had been sent to Boston and this being a Friday, I wouldn’t be able to get the results until Monday. I felt so bad that I didn’t think I would survive past Sunday so I rang Dr Shah and he prescribed some tablets as he suspected it was a urinary tract infection. Jamie picked these up and after taking a couple of doses I started to feel better.
I did eventually find out I’d had a bad urine infection.
The staff at Beechfield responded to my concerns quickly and although I’m still quite weak, I just wanted to thank the staff.
The surgery is wonderful and the staff who I’ve dealt with are all doing a good job.
