I would like to reply to several of your letters, issued dated January 29.
I’ve never done this before, but some of the letters infuriated me.
First and foremost – Spalding needs a better bus service:
You have been unemployed for nearly two years and had the chance of a weekend job in Peterborough, then you complain about the lack of a bus service.
In two years I find it hard to believe there hasn’t been a single job vacancy that you could fill.
Don’t moan about buses, have a look a bit closer to home.
We live in a rural area, I see how many people ride on buses and trains and it’s not enough to keep them economically viable.
I’m a Tory supporting, working class bricklayer and I’ve never signed on.
Is there a need to refurbish gates?: Mr Hutchinson, sir I agree with you entirely.
Problems with closing down libraries: Mr Bird, you’re living in the past, though it’s a crying shame, children have Kindles, Amazon, and everything else.
Pacey’s is saved thankfully, but the candlemaker vanished a long time ago.
Another off licence for Spalding: Mr Harwin, I agree totally but to be honest it won’t last long.
