LETTER: Local pubs are missing a trick

Sometimes I think our local pubs are missing a trick!
Recently whilst on holiday in Yorkshire I noticed a large number of their public houses, and even some smaller restaurants and cafes, welcomed dog owners and their dogs (well behaved of course) into their establishments. Lots were quite busy.
Most couples and their families who have taken their dogs with them on holiday are very unlikely to go into anywhere and leave the dog outside.
Some are allowed in the gardens but who wants to sit in a garden and eat in the rain?
Come on pubs do yourselves a favour put a big sign outside saying “dogs welcome” and see your foot and “paw” fall increase.
Surely it’s worth a try?
