LETTER: Infrastructure needs work

The promise of a new school and the proposed roundabout at Peppermint Junction is welcome news for Holbeach, however I feel the builders and developers need to take it a step further.

The infrastructure in Holbeach is simply not strong enough to accommodate 900 new homes (this could be anywhere between 1,800 and 4,000 new residents).

I feel that the developers have to build a doctor’s and dentist’s at the very least.

I personally would love to see an injection of new families and residents in Holbeach but not to the detriment of existing residents.

The addition of these new residents would liven up the High Street and give Holbeach the lift it requires, the injection of new money would encourage shopkeepers and business owners to open up currently boarded shops and pubs.

There are growth industries in and around the area crying out for fresh talent, I know as JDM Foodgroup in Bicker are always on the lookout for young, fresh, intelligent personnel for their ever-growing workforce.

So, in short I am in favour of the new homes, but something has to be done to the infrastructure before they are built.
