LETTER: ‘Humans’ should carry plastic bags for their mess too

I was interested to read of the “Latest council purge on dog mess” (Voice, March 2), which is admirable in its intention.

I presume that the logo and message is painted on the pavement so that the dogs can see it – note that both Rachel Thompson and Anthony Casson have to get at “dog height” to show the sign to a dog.

Perhaps we could now turn our attention to “humans”.
Dog owners are required to carry plastic bags for the dog mess. Why not something similar for those that must leave their drink cans and food containers around the area?

We already have notices concerning litter as well as other “undesirable acts” in a specific area of the town, but the litter problem is widespread and the notices displayed are sparse.
Also human waste is far more obvious than that left by dogs.

PS I am not a dog owner.
