LETTER: Green bags? My recycling might go in black ones in future

I read with interest the proposed changes in the distribution of green recycling sacks (Voice, November 24).

I am a great believer in recycling, always using one green sack per week. Strangely, I ran out of sacks in September and had to collect a supply from Priory Road reception. I again ran out of sacks in November and had to collect a further supply.

I asked the lady on reception when my next delivery of sacks was due. She informed me it would be February 2017 because I should have received a supply in August this year.
I did not get a delivery in August, which was why I had to make a six-mile round trip to collect some in September.

I informed the lady that sacks used to get placed near my front door but more lately near the garage door. She informed me that the deliverers are not allowed on premises so I assume they throw bags on driveways.
The mind boggles – anybody could pick these up.

I support recycling but in future I may have to put everything into black bags which, incidentally, I have to buy because I did not get a delivery of these either and none were available from the office.
