LETTER: Can anybody help fill gaps in my family tree research?

I have hit a wall in my family tree research. I am trying to find out information about any living relatives that we have lost touch with, over 60 years ago.

My father was born in 1941 in Peterborough to Doris Minnie McCarthy (nee Vellam), born 1922 in Double Street, Spalding and Joseph McCarthy, from Lancashire.
They lived in Winsover Road, Spalding. When Doris died in 1947 my father who was five years old and his brother, Patrick, were moved into an orphanage in Boston until family from Lancashire took on their care.

I am trying to locate any of Doris’ family who may still be alive and in the area.
Doris was the child of Thomas H Vellam (1863-1950) and Minnie Agnes Woolsey (1897-1947).

She had several siblings, the following are the ones that I know of: Kathleen 1920, Fred 1921, Margaret 1922, Maud 1925, Raymond 1927, Jack 1929, Pamela 1935, Monica 1937 and Anthony 1941.

I would love to be able to reconnect my father with his aunts and uncles or cousins. If anyone can help please contact me.
