LETTER: Actually, Hayes is MY voice

It is clear that the Corbyn fans and EU Remainers can’t bear the fact that we have had an MP for the past 20 years who knows and cares about the place he represents.

It must annoy his opponents that John Hayes doesn’t fit the biased stereotype of what a Conservative should be – ie from a privileged background and uncaring – far from it.

But John has also shown the courage in his convictions. It would have been very easy for him to “sit on the fence” over Brexit – after all, he had worked in Downing Street with David Cameron (a testament in itself to how highly he is rated and how much he is trusted). Instead, he was true to his principles and his constituents and fought for his country and its sovereignty by campaigning for Britain to leave the EU.

You are my voice, John, and Britain’s too.
