Lemon suffers nasty injury as Spalding United beaten at Grantham Town

Grantham Town 3 Spalding United 0

Jordan Lemon suffered a broken wrist as Spalding United were beaten 3-0 by Grantham Town on Friday night.

A first-half Paul Walker OG and a Danny Meadows effort gave hosts Grantham a 2-0 lead at the break in the Lincs Senior Cup clash at the Meres.

But is was the injury to Lemon that further soured proceedings, with the full-back now facing a race against time to feature in the early parts of the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South season.

George Couzens rounded off the win for Grantham.

Tulips: Duggan, Walker, Jackson, Varley, Humble, Spafford, Higginson, Beeson, King, Lockie, Lemon.
