With only three fixtures in this week’s Spalding and District Billiards League, the leaders Donington B extended their position at the top by one point.
Hosting Holbeach B, they secured a ninth win of the season of 5-2.
Debutant to billiards this season Mick Pearl (r25), of Donington, has had a great start, but finally this week lost his first game, Jason Rose (scr) winning 200-180 against him.
Neil Burton (r65) levelled things up for Donington with a 200-137 victory against Ben Harding (o05).
Neil Reynolds (o50) saw Donington over the line beating John Dawson (r60) 200-141. Reynolds making the highest break of the evening with a 34.
Second-placed Broadway bagged another win 4-3 at home to Pyramid B, despite losing the first frame.
Pyramid’s Maurice Phillipson (r90) had a 44-point win against Femi Akinlade (r45) 200-156.
Steve Singh (o50) produced a 30-point win for Broadway against Neil McClean (r90) 200-170.Singh making breaks of 27, 23 and 22 along the way.
In the final frame, it went to the wire with a one-point victory going the way of Broadway. Wolee Akintola (r40) just edging out Darrell Read (r20) 200-199.
Pyramid took the extra point with a better aggregate score of just 13 points, leaving them in fourth place.
Consti jumped up the table by two places to seventh with a home 4-3 victory against Gosberton who climbed up to fifth, despite the loss.
Just three points separated Alan Hansard (r75), of Consti, and Gosberton’s Des Forbes (r60), Hansard being the victor 200-197.
John Bellerby (r105 had a 200-142 win against Shane White (o30) to put Consti two frames up.
But clash of the captains saw Marcus Pell (o35), of Gosberton, come out on top against Stewart Davies (r35) with a 200-132 victory.
This gave the extra aggregate point to Gosberton by just seven points 539 to 532 overall.
