Leaders Polishborough hit perfect ten as nearest rivals are expelled

An eventful night in The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side league saw a team being removed, permanent bans handed out to two players, goals galore, surprise results and yet another win for runaway leaders Polishborough.

In the first Division One game of the night at Surfleet’s Glen Park, new boys Mirror Signal Malouda were given a baptism of fire as they went down 7-0 to in-form Notinmymums Forest.

MSM, who have replaced basement boys EPH Allstars, got off to the worst possible start with a disastrous – if not slightly fluky – own goal. Ashley Coddington was named man-of-the-match (MOTM) in this one.

Pinchbeck United then lost 2-1 to Univeg Team in a tight game which could have swung either way. Univeg captain Jiri Spacek admitted that his team were “lucky” after being pushed hard by the Pinchbeck lads.

Anthony Corrigan managed to secure MOTM for the losing side.

Then came the flashpoint of the night. You’ve Got No Fans were 4-0 up against Baltic United when a sour incident marred an otherwise exciting night of football.

Baltic captain Jurijs Spicins and international front-man Edgaras Buzas both responded poorly to a decision from referee Matt Jackson and proceeded to physically abuse the match official. This led to the game being abandoned. Both players have since been handed £100 fines and given permanent bans from any UKMA affiliated league or competition.

Furthermore, Baltic – who were sitting second – have been removed from the league with immediate effect after showing no remorse for the incident. The result for this game has been credited as a 5-0 walkover for YGNF.

Back to the action and Brennans Sports avoided a repeat of their surprise draw against Division Two champions Posh Old Boys by securing a comfortable 3-0 win. Cameron Cope was on form and picked up his second MOTM of the campaign.

Leaders Polishborough were again the big winners of the night as they thumped Wet Dream Team 10-1. With Baltic receiving their marching orders, Borough now sit five points clear of third placed Pro Ballers. Dawid Kantak bagged MOTM in this one.

Youth then overcame experience as Pro Ballers beat Old Boy Coaches 5-1 in the final game of the division for the evening.

In Division Two, Tekkerslovakia secured a vital 3-0 win against Mail Carters in a one-sided opener as Luke Barnett picked up the MOTM prize.

The next clash saw Sarah’s Boys chalk up another decent result as they managed to grab a well-earned point against Evolution as fourth took on third.

Ash Graham got the nod as MOTM from referee Andy Rudd in this game.

Relative newboys Hardly Athletic improved slightly on their 22-0 drubbing last week as they only lost 6-0 this time around. Dynamo Kiev were the grateful recipients of the comfortable win. Kiev’s JJ Ivatt was given MOTM by referee Jason Chilvers for this clash.

The TBME then upset the odds by beating BK’s Athletic 2-1 in a terrific tussle.

The top six of the second division are so closely matched that anyone can secure a result against anyone else in that chasing pack, as this result proves.

MOTM Jake Farrell was yet again on top form for The TBME as they impressed onlookers with a decent display.

Then came a shock as Goaldiggers performed a miracle to beat leaders Simple FC 3-2. Simple were not at their best and allowed Goaldiggers, fresh with new kits, time on the ball and chances galore – which they willingly took.

George Wallis took MOTM in this game.

The final clash of the night saw Le Saux Solid Crew beat Balotellitubbies 6-3 to keep their promotion hopes alive.

The win was more than deserved for the Le Saux lads, as they countered quickly and effectively.

Despite being on the losing side, the impressive Michael Cope picked up his third MOTM of the season.
