Landmark run is hit by storms

Storm Bert failed to put off 68 hardy runners and 28 volunteers for Snowden Field’s 200th Parkrun on Saturday.

Organisers had been hoping for a record turnout but the strong winds and heavy rain put paid to that.
Youngsters were to the fore with Peterborough & Nene Valley AC members taking the top two places. Daniel Evans, SM20-24, crossed the line first in 18 minutes and 39 seconds, just over a minute ahead of junior 11-14 runner Louie Hemmings, 19:48.
Halmer Harriers in action were Adam Caress, 25:41, Simon Eldridge, 26:08, and Janet Strickland, 32:14.
