Ladies’ big boost for charity

A group of women have helped raise more than £1,600 for the Alzheimer’s Society by holding a Cupcake/Fun Day.

Kelly Greengrass-Smith, Kelly Scotney, Kodie Greengrass-Munton, Liz Greengrass, Lucy Waite, Sarah Barlow, Sandy Daniels and Zoe Dawson put on the private event in Spalding on Saturday, May which included a host of games and stalls as well as entertainment from The Nicolas Players.

Kelly Scotney said: “We would like to thank all the business’ in Spalding and surrounding areas who kindly donated raffle prizes, baked or donated cakes which sold out and everyone who helped on the day to make it a successful event.

“A huge thank you to everyone who came to support us on the day, we couldn’t believe how everyone who attended didn’t let the rain spoil their fun and stayed till the end to support us.

“As we held this in Lee and Kelly Smith’s garden we had to make it a closed event, but after the fantastic turn out and the huge success of raising £1,626.18, we are going to do a bigger event next year and open it up to the public.”
