People were queuing from 7.30am this morning as Taco Bell and KFC opened its new Spalding branches.
The developments on the Lincolnshire Business Gateway Park are now serving food and drink after opening their doors at 10.30am this morning (Thursday, August 18).
The queues were for Taco Bell which celebrated the opening of its 100th store in the UK by giving out 100 free double cheesy tacos to the first 100 customers.
Taco Bell area manager Ryan Barrand said 40 staff had been employed: “There’s been a massive buzz for this. We couldn’t have asked for a better reception from the area.
“It’s been phenomenal. This is what they wanted so we’re giving them what they want.
“There’s been so much hype and we just want to keep improving for the area.
“I thin a lot of people around here haven’t had a Taco Bell but now we’ve got one for the area, it’s amazing.”
Raja Adil, franchisee of Taco Bell Spalding, says: “It feels like the opening of the Spalding restaurant has been a long time coming and we know it’s something locals have eagerly been anticipating! The day has finally come and the news that we will also be the 100th store is the cherry on top.”
KFC has not actually advertised its opening, but like Taco Bell it held a soft opening last night (Wednesday, August 17).
Sara Jane Roper is the store manager having previously been manager of Tesco and the branch of Subway at Springfields.
“It’s very exciting,” she said. “We’re all really looking forward to it.
“I’ve got a really good team behind me which makes my life a lot easier.”
