Jarvis Jubilant as Tigers agree deal with wing wizard Davies

Darren Jarvis reckons that he’s landed a top talent after agreeing a deal to bring winger Kieron Davies to Holbeach United.

Davies, who played for Jarvis back in his Blackstones days and briefly at Peterborough Northern Star, spent last season with Evo-Stik League First Division South outfit Loughborough Dynamo.

Equally adept on either flank or in behind the striker, Davies also lists King’s Lynn Town and St Neots Town among his former clubs.

Having struggled with injury over the past year, Tigers chief Jarvis reckons he can get the best out of Davies next season – and has told the Carter’s Park faithful they’ll be excited by his combination of pace and expert delivery from the flank.

“Kieron has that rare ability to be able to deliver a great cross while also being very quick,” said Jarvis. “He’s similar to Lee Beeson in that regard.

“He was absolutely brilliant for me at Blackstones and quite rightly went on to play at a higher level with the likes of St Neots and King’s Lynn.

“By his own admission, he’s not been at peak fitness over the past 12 or 18 months – but I believe that he likes playing under me and I’m sure I can get the best out of him.

“At 23, he’s got a lot to offer in a host of positions and on his day he’s an outstanding player.

“He’s also got an eye for goal, so I’m sure the fans will love him. I’m certainly delighted to have him on board – it’s great news for the club.”

Having already agreed deals with the likes of Jonny Clay, Chris Ward, Andy Law and Ricky Drury  – as well as retaining key men like Andrew Tidswell, Gary King and Stacy Cartwright – it’s shaping up to be an exciting season at Carter’s Park next term.
