In-form Clarke eyes up a party in the Park at Oulton as he bids to keep super start going

Kirton race Aaron Clarke and his draperRACING team-mate Tommy Philp head to Oulton Park this weekend for round three of their respective championships.

Clarke – who has enjoyed a super start to the season – has just the one race in the National Supersport 600 series, while Philp will contest two races in the British Supersport Championship.

Both riders took part in the official British Superbike test day at the Cheshire circuit last Thursday to find a good set up in preparation for the races this weekend.

They then travelled back to Lincolnshire for further testing at Cadwell Park at the Bemsee club meeting on Saturday.

The weather was dire, but at least they found a good set up for the forthcoming British Superbike meeting in August – should it be wet.

  • The Wyberton-based G&S Racing Kawasaki team are also in action at Oulton Park over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Tom Fisher (Superstock 1000) and Milo Ward (Superstock 600) are bidding to improve on a disappointing showing last time out.

Fisher has not had the best start to his championship challenge, but with the big Kawasaki now back up and running he should be in the mix for a points finish this weekend.

Meanwhile, Ward is proving to be a strong contender in the Stock 600 class and – but for a slip off the bike at Brands Hatch – was looking at a podium finish to his race.

Ward was also at Oulton last week for the official British Superbike test day and was fastest overall in his class.

Both riders just have the one race to contest this weekend as, although the Stock 1000 class usually has two races, there is a time restriction on the Sunday which has caused officials to curtail track action somewhat.
