Twenty years ago astronomers were not sure whether planets existed around other stars in the universe or not. Today we know of over a thousand.
Tonight (Friday), Professor Andrew Norton will be giving a talk on Exo-Planets and How To Find Them at the South Lincolnshire Astronomical and Geophysical Society meeting.
Prof Norton, who is vice president of the Royal Astronomical Society and director of the Open University’s George Abell Observatory, will use models to illustrate how planets can be found around other stars in our universe.
The meeting is at St Nicolas Hall, The Vista, Spalding, from 7pm. Admission is £5 with light refreshments available afterwards.
