Hospital gets charity boost

A magnificent £2,000 was raised at a raffle and through donations at Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s charity day.

Organiser Malcolm Miller thanked all those who took part to raise funds for Holbeach Hospital.

Julia Scott presented the prizes and thanked all for their generosity.

Men’s winner Tim Martin scored 37 points, with Wayne Smart second on countback with 35, ahead of Steve Wilkinson.

The ladies’ competition was won by Ann Hobson with 39 points. Tania Thompson-Cole finished second with 38 points, ahead of Juliet Punshon on countback.

Men’s July Medal, Division One: 1st Dean Wright 77-6=71, 2nd Paul Hunt 80-8=72, 3rd Shane Sleath 85-11=74.
Division Two: 1st Adam Manning 81-15=66, 2nd Steven Lamb 89-17=72, 3rd Tim Hipkin 87-14=73.
Division Three: 1st Terence Bate 92-23=69, 2nd Chris Simmonds 98-26=72, 3rd Adam Rowell 100-25=75

Sutton Bridge Seniors lost a close match 3½-2½ at King’s Lynn’s Middleton Park.

Winning pairs for Sutton were Mark Charnley and Ray Jackson, two up, and Steve Adams and Colin Fawcett 2 & 1. Andy Hyde and Rick Morley got the half.
