Holbeach school’s Bugsy show goes on tour

The cast of a school’s latest production have gone “on tour” to promote their show.

Pupils from University Academy Holbeach – dressed in 1920s costume – visited Holbeach Bank Primary, Holbeach Primary Academy and William Stukeley Primary School, as well as Hovenden House Leonard Cheshire home in Fleet, to perform songs and dances from Bugsy Malone.

Head of music Sam Graper said: “The tour went extremely well and all of the audiences seemed to really enjoy it.

“It is always a useful exercise as it is the first time that they perform in front of an audience, so it helps them get used to seeing people watching and hearing people laugh at all the jokes.”

The show will be performed tonight, tomorrow and Saturday, from 7.30pm in the school hall and audience members are being invited to come in 1920s costume, as the hall is being transformed into Fat Sam’s Grand Slam.
