UPDATE: Motorcyclist dies after collision in Holbeach

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a motorcyclist in Holbeach.

It follows a road traffic collision on Friday between a motorbike and a tractor on the B1168 between Saturday Bridge and Hurdletree Bank.

Police said on Saturday morning: “We are sad to report that a man has died following a collision on the B1168.

“The rider of the motorbike, a 49-year-old man from the local area, died following the incident. His next of kin have been informed.

“We are continuing to appeal for any witnesses who may not already have spoken to police. If you have any information you believe may be relevant to the enquiry please contact us on 101, quoting incident 146 of 21/04/2017.”

 

Frida, April 21 PM: Police say a road at Holbeach is closed and will remain so for some time following a serious road traffic collision.

A tractor and motorbike collided on the B1168 (Fen Road) at 11.20am on Friday (April 21).

Police said: “The road has been closed at Saturday Bridge and the junction with Hurdletree Bank and is likely to remain closed for some time.

“Any witnesses who have not already spoken with officers at the scene are asked to call 101 quoting incident number 146 of 21 April.”
