A Holbeach firm’s expertise at growing daffodils earned it a place at the Champions League final last Saturday night. (June 3)
Walkers@Taylors Bulbs was chosen specifically to provide the displays within the corporate areas for the showpiece event at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Grower Johnny Walkers explained: “We were asked last November if it would be possible to have daffodils with the final being in Cardiff.
“The organisers had heard about us on the back of our experience at the Chelsea Flower Show. It’s always difficult because the process is quite technical.
“It was a little bit later in the year than we would have liked because of the temperature and storage, but we began the process and then started to pray.
“Last week was a little bit warmer than we really wanted and it got quite stressful, but thankfully everything came right in the end.”
