Holbeach Bookshop returns with army of volunteers

The volunteers behind Holbeach Bookshop were able to get together for the first time in more than a year recently as part of the shop’s reopening.

The shop is now open 10am to 4pm every day except Wednesdays and Sundays.

COVID safe measures are in place and only two people are allowed in the shop at one time. It’s also still cash transactions only.

The staff gathered in Holbeach recently to talk about the measures and share a coffee.

Charles Baker said: “It was the first time many of the volunteers had met up since the lockdown began, so many old friendships were renewed along with a new volunteer who was fairly new to the town and wanted to get out and meet people.

“They were all very excited to be getting back into the shop and meeting old and new customers.”
