Harpham lifts Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s John Gamble Open trophy with narrow victory

More than 100 golfers from around the region contested Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s John Gamble Open Individual Stableford event.

Chris Harpham was the overall winner on countback from Jonathan Schultz in second place after both men scored 43 points.

Countback was also needed to decide third place, with Mark Smith completing the podium ahead of Brendan Docking after the both bagged 38 points.

The ladies’ winner was Lorraine Gallie, who racked up a strong score of 36 points.
Trevor Sewell, who is one of the organisers, said: “Thanks to all who took part, this event was a great tribute to a popular character at the club who passed away two years ago.

“Thanks also go to the green keepers for the excellent condition of the course and to all of the other organisers and bar staff.”
