Hair today, gone tomorrow for Barber Shoppe owner

He’s used to cutting other people’s hair, but the owner of a Spalding barbers has raised over £100 by having his own dramatic hair cut.

Alan Mackey, of The Barber Shoppe in New Road, took on the shave to raise money for men’s mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

Thanks to donations through the shop, he was able to raise a final total of £118.

Alan even went as far to have his eyebrows shaved.

On Saturday, April 26 deputy manager Lariśa Howson gave Alan the hair raising cut.

“He’s so shocked by it,” Lariśa said. “He says that he will enjoy the new hat he’s bought so his head won’t get cold.”
