Gun report sparked man hunt in Spalding last night

A report a gun was pointed at a person driving through Spalding led to a man hunt last night (Tuesday).

The Lincolnshire Police helicopter was involved in the search for two men after it was reported two men pointed a black hand gun at the vehicle a witness was driving along Hereward Road between 7.40pm and 7.45 pm on Tuesday, August 20.

Police say the men were also later seen on Winsover Road.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “We received a report that a witness had seen two men on Hereward Road, Spalding, walking towards the town centre, the witness describes seeing them point a black hand gun at the vehicle they were driving.

“The incident is believed to have happened between 7.40 and 7.45 pm on Tuesday 21 August. We understand the two men were also seen on Winsover Road.

“The men are described as white, in their 30’s, one wearing a black baseball cap with tattoos on his arm wearing a black t shirt, blue jeans and trainers.  Described as short, approx. 5ft 6 and big build.  The second man described as skin head, skinny build wearing a grey top, blue jeans and trainers. 

“A full search of the town and was carried out using officers and a police helicopter.  No-one was injured, no-one has been arrested and our investigation is on-going.

“We would appeal for anyone with information or who may have been walking or driving in the area of Hereward Road and Winsover Road, Spalding to contact us.”
