Grenade find leads to part of Holbeach being cordoned off

Part of Holbeach was cordoned off this afternoon (Saturday January 18) after a hand grenade was found in a garden.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit and Lincolnshire Police were called to Fleet Street at around 1pm.

A 100m cordon was put up around the area but experts declared the grenade ‘inert’ and safe after nearby roads had been closed for around two hours.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Thank you to everyone for their patience.”
