Great turnout for Tydd St Giles’ Senior Open Day

 

Tydd Senior Open Day

More than 100 golfers from around the region took part in Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s Senior Open Day event.

The Stableford pairs competition, which was played in excellent conditions, saw some very good scores achieved.
The overall winners were John Manders (from Ely GC) and Ted Gathercole (Rotherham GC) with a fine 47 points.
Tydd’s senior co-ordinator Brian Shales thanked all for attending and their generosity. The half way house raised £107 for the British Heart Foundation and from the raffle £300 for Chrohn’s Disease charity.

Senior Open Day results: Overall winners – John Manders & Ted Gathercole 47pts; 2nd Ray Puttock & Malcolm Fuller (Felwell) 44pts; 3rd John Sellick & Rob Warnes (Wensum Valley) 44pts. Home winners – Colin Page & Ken Parker 45pts; home runners-up Tony Petch & Tim Murphy 44pts (ocb); 3rd Stewart Walker & Jim McVeigh 44pts.

Men’s section: Result: Richmond Park 4.5 Tydd St Giles 1.5 (Baz Smith & Dennis Savory won 6&5, Trevor Sewell & Steve Skoulding lost 2&1, Brian Newby & Brian Gough lost 1 down, David Morris & Tony Petch halved, Kerbad Daboo & Terry Sambridge lost 2&1, Russell Doy & Ken Sherry lost 3&2.
