Gosberton D are third division champions

Gosberton D have been crowned champions of Division Three in the Spalding and District Snooker League.

Despite not having a match this week, Gosberton now cannot be caught by runners-up Whittlesey C, who won 4-2 on Thursday.
Seven points separate the two teams, meaning that even if Gosberton lose the final game of the season 6-0 and Whittlesey win 6-0, there will still be a one-point difference.
Whittlesey beat third-placed Donington B.
Pyramid E kept fourth place, getting the better of Gosberton B 4-2.
Gosberton C are still propping up the rest of the division, despite a 6-0 whitewash of Consti D, who sit one place above them.
Donington D are third-from-bottom having beaten Whittlesey A 4-2.
Whittlesey got off to a good start, taking the first two frames courtesy of Andy Gebbie (R21) and Graeme Sawyer (O14), before Donington hit back grabbing the final three frames.
Pat Taylor (R14), Dennis Mitcham (R14) and Alan Stanley (scr) were the winners for Donington.
Consti C are doing their best to keep out of the drop zone, beating Boundary B 5-1.
In Division One, a fabulous 67 break by Services A’s Vince Fitter (O35) has almost certainly won him the trophy for the highest overall break, along with the highest break in Division One.
Fitter’s break came in the team’s 4-2 defeat at the hands of Holbeach D.
Fitter and Phil Spencer (O7) claimed the points for Services, while Denis Hix (R7), Wayne Forbelets (O21) and Don Monk (O14) got the wins for Holbeach,
It was a good week for Holbeach D, who also won a rearranged game against Pyramid D 4-2.
The wins have pushed them up the table from 11th to seventh.
It’s still all to play for at the top of the division, with a single point separating top of the table Boundary A and second-placed Bourne SC A.
Boundary beat Bourne SC C 4-2, while Bourne SC A had a 5-1 win over Donington C.
Breaks in that match came from Mark Gray (O105) 51 and 40 and Pete Hodgson-Kerry (O28) 20 for Bourne, and Dan Burt (O42) 20 and Ben Wrigglesworth (O28) 21 for Donington.
Down at the bottom of the division, Pyramid A look almost certain to be relegated to after a 4-2 loss to Holbeach C.
Dan Ashton (O7), Nick Edwards (R7) and Terry West (R7) won the first three frames to give Holbeach the victory.
John Twell (O7) and Dean Cole (O14) got the points for Pyramid.
Also at the bottom of the table, Pyramid D helped themselves a little with a 4-2 win against Holbeach A.
Sutton Bridge beat Bourne SC B 4-2 thanks to frame wins from Tom Horspool (O42), Mick Tiller (scr) and Wayne Howard (O14).
A 50 break couldn’t help Shane Balding (O56) to a win over Jay Scampion (R7) who pipped him by a single point.
In Division Two, two points remain between leaders Consti G and second-placed Holbeach E.
Both teams had 5-1 wins on Thursday night, Consti beating Pyramid B and Holbeach getting the better of Consti B, meaning it will all come down to next week’s final match of the season.
Chris Back (O42), Stuart Sullivan (O35), Phil Coaten (O21) and Pete Ransome (O28) were winners for Holbeach, with John Keeton (O7) taking the final frame and solitary point for Consti.
Consti H are still in third thanks to a 4-2 win over Services E, while Pyramid B have jumped from eighth to fourth, despite the loss to Consti.
A 5-1 win in a rearranged game against Holbeach B has pushed them up the table.
Holbeach F’s Dan Mayfield (O28) knocked in a 41 break in his win over Martyn Stanley (R21), giving him the highest break in Division Two so far this season.
The team went on to beat Consti F 5-1, with further victories for Susan Lefley (R21), James Quinton (O7) and Alex Bourne (O21).
They remain second-from-bottom though with relegation a real possibility.
Last placed Consti I had a last ditch attempt to avoid relegation with a 5-1 win over Donington A.
Wins from Jonathan Smith (R21), John Bellerby (R7), Pete Stokes (R7) and Richard Geddes (R21) sealed the victory.
