Golfers raised over £5,800 for charity

In 2022 Gedney Hill Golf Club lost two of its members to pancreatic cancer, so when Chris Bennett became Lady Captain on April 1, 2023, she decided to nominate Pancreatic Cancer UK as her charity for the year.

She said: “Everyone at the club got on board – Rob Bye, Club Captain and Steve Steels, Seniors’ Captain, donated the money made on their Captains’ Days, Kevin King organised a skydive with his work colleagues from Earls Scaffolding Ltd and other fundraising events were held at the club throughout the year.
“In total we raised £5,850 for the charity which was way beyond my expectations.”
A representative from Pancreatic Cancer UK recently visited Gedney Hill Golf Club to receive a cheque from a group of members.
