Golf round-up: Winter wins for top Tydd duo,Spalding winners lift their trophies

Chris Blakey and Ashley Irvine both boast wins after two rounds of Gedney Hill Golf Club’s Winter League Stableford.

Round one saw Blakey take top spot with a haul of 39 points, while Craig Johnson and Rob Bye both bagged 37 points to take second and third respectively.

The second round then saw Irvine top the standings with an impressive score of 41 points, putting him ahead of Nigel Bright (39pts) and Steve Carter (38pts).

Carter did join up with John George to win the Monkwise Demolition Pairs, though, scoring 47 points.

Rob Newns and Adam Britton (46pts) and Kerr Page and Stuart Parker (45pts) completed the top three.

Ladies’ section: Centenary Bowl – 1st Maria Taylor-Vassall 30pts (ocb); 2nd Kim Markillie 30pts; 3rd Chris Bennett 26pts.
