Give it a Go event as part of The Great Get Together

The chance to try something new is on offer as The Great Get Together comes to Spalding on Saturday June 24.

A Give it a Go event is being held at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field from 11am to 3pm as part of the weekend that commemorates murdered MP Jo Cox.

The event, organised as part of South Holland District Council’s SHout and About programme provides the opportunity to try sports or activities for free.

A host of clubs and groups will be talking about their hobbies and there will also be activities including face painting, cooking demonstration and arts and crafts.

Coun Gary Taylor, South Holland’s portfolio holder for communities and facilities, said: “Members of the community will be able to spend time together with their loved ones, trying exciting new activities which can also positively benefit their health and wellbeing. Please come along, bring a picnic and try out something brand new for free, it promises to be a great day.”
