Get quizzical for school fence bid

Supporters of a Spalding school are getting quizzical in a bid to help it beat the vandals.

St Paul’s Primary School has suffered damage to its outdoor equipment on several occasions in recent months.

It’s led to The Friends of St Paul’s Community Primary and Nursery School to try to raise enough money to fund £3,000 security fencing.

The group is already over halfway towards that target and they’re looking to get even closer by holding a Quiz Night at Spalding Services and Social Club on High Street on Friday, May 3.

The group’s chair Emily Farrar said: “We would welcome any support from local businesses/companies in supporting us in our quest.

“We are looking at raising £3,000 for security fencing, we currently have £1,500 from local councillor donations and existing funds, any additional money raised can then be used to replace items already damaged by the vandalism and to improve and add to the children’s outdoor classrooms.

“Other events currently planned include chocolate bingo, a table top sale and our annual summer fete.

“Each class is currently taking part in the 5p challenge where the first class to fill their 2lt bottle wins some class treats.

“The school itself is raising money for CCTV.”

Doors open at 6.30pm for the quiz night on May 3 which starts at 7pm.

It’s £3 per person with a maximum of six people per team.

There will also be music, a licensed bar and raffle.
