Two friends are looking to set up a chess club in Long Sutton.
Rick Henry and Steve Kent have been meeting up at The Shed at Sutton Barns to play the game.
Now they’d like others to get involved.
“This has all come about by accident,” Rick said. “I’m not the best player in the world, but I like a game.
“I’ve been teaching my grandchildren, but otherwise I’ve not been able to find anyone to play.
“I went into The Shed for some dinner and while I was waiting saw the chess board and had a game with a friend.
“I just happened to be talking about the cafe with Steve and mentioned I’d played chess and he told me he played.
“We’ve been down and had a game and are making it a regular thing.
“Now we’d love for others to join us and it would be particularly handy if one or two could bring their own sets.”
The two are meeting on at 12pm on the last Thursday of every month.
