GALLERY – Stancer takes singles title

The Crowson Volkswagen Pinchbeck & District Winter Darts League came to an end with finals night at Spalding Services Club.

The first game of the evening saw Pinchbeck FC and Consti Club B contesting the H&H Cup final.
In a close encounter, the football club came out triumphant 5-4 thanks to wins by Jason Waltham, Paul Sellars and Tom Elderkin.
The Knockout Cup saw The Green Dragon providing both teams for this final, the A team taking the spoils over the B team with a 5-3 win.
Singles wins for Jason Williams, Jay Taylor and Kris Dean securing the victory.
The Fours final was contested next, between the Lincoln Arms A and Services Club B.
The Lincoln Arms quartet of Karl Rolfe, Sam Roberts, Paul Blow and Steve Gaughan beating Steve Rawding, Di Langston, Ben Chester and Jonny Pell 3-0.
The first of the individual finals commenced with the Ladies’ singles between Stacey Banister (Lincoln Arms D) and Sharon Barnard (Services Club B).
Banister winning yet another ladies’ title 2-1.
Next came the Captains’ Cup between Paul Faulkner (Consti Club C) and Steve Rawding (Services Club B).
The two experienced players had a close game but Faulkner was triumphant with a 2-1 win thanks to two 180s.
The Mixed Pairs final between Dan Gent and Banister (Lincoln Arms D) and Williams and Neve Tutty (Green Dragon A) resulted in Banister taking home her second title of the night with her partner Gent winning 2-0.
The Division B pairs final saw Craig Woods and Darren Hubbard (Pinchbeck FC) up against Stu Ewins and Matt Broderick (Consti Club B), a 2-0 win for Ewins and Broderick securing the title.
Following on with the Division A Pairs final between Stancer and Blow (Lincoln Arms A) and Chester and Ady Smith (Services Club B) saw the Lincoln duo proving too strong and coming out with a 2-0 victory.
The Division B Singles final came next with Dean Murray (Services Club A) against Phil Newton (Draymans Arms). Murray victorious in this one, winning in straight legs 2-0.
The evening came to an end with the Division A Singles final.
Team mates and friends Stancer and Roberts (Lincoln Arms A) playing out one of the best finals seen for several seasons that went all five legs.
It was Stancer who held his nerve in the final leg to take the title 3-2.
