Spalding Town were defeated by four wickets at home to Market Deeping in the Lincolnshire Premier Division.
After being put in, Brandon Andrews’ side posted 237 from their 50 overs.
They enjoyed a good start through Keyan Grace (19) and Ollie Dring whose 38 came from just 33 balls.
When both were out and Chris Dring run out without facing a ball, Spalding were 89 for 3.
Number three Jamie Coles batted well scoring 73 including partnerships of 51 with Ethan Lawrence (25) and 82 with Nilantha Atapattu.
That partnership took Spalding to 222 for 4, but trying to up the score at the end of the innings they lost their last six wickets for just 15 runs and closed on 237. Deeping’s Matthew Mills (3 for 27) took a hat trick with the final three balls of the innings.
The visitors looked in a bit of trouble after slumping to 85 for 4 in the reply with Josh Lawrence (2 for 45), Gace (2 for 45) and Andrews (1 for 58) all striking.
But a brilliant 105 from 97 balls by Hayatullah Niazi including seven fours and six sixes turned the game Deeping’s way, backed by James Hook’s run a ball 39.
Niazi was eventually stumped by Ethan Lawrence off the bowling of Ollie Dring (1 for 50) with 20 still needed but David Sergeant (34 not out) and Arsalan Manzoor (7 not out) saw Deeping home with just over four overs to spare.
There was also a defeat for Spalding on Sunday when they took on Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers in the National Knockout Cup at Moulton Seas End.
Again they were put in, but this time they could only manage to reach 113 all out in 36 overs.
After losing Grace without a run being scored, Jamie Coles for 10 and Ollie Dring for 18, Spalding were 29 for 3.
A nice partnership between Barnaby (33) and Chris Dring (24) added 59, but there was little resistance from the tale apart from number 11’s Harry Birch.
It was a total that never looked defendable against the Norfolk side.
Jordan Everett scored 50 and Louie Stronach 39 as the Ashmanhaugh openers passed three figures without losing a wicket.
George Morris (1 for 12) and Divyeash Vaseeharan (1 for 8) put a dampener on both’s averages but the away side still earned an eight wicket win in just 17.4 overs.
