Fundraiser hits £30k for dogs

A Holbeach fundraiser has reached a huge milestone in her support for a dog charity.

Ann Gregory has been helping Jerry Green Dog Rescue, which has a centre at Algakirk, since she read a sad story relating to two of the residents – and has hit £30,000.

Brandy and Marley were taken to the charity and Brandy needed extensive surgery – and Ann felt compelled to help.

“I began fundraising because of my love for dogs, and wanted to make a difference in my spare time,” she said.

“After a well-earned winter’s rest, I am planning to open again on Tuesday, March 21, and welcome everyone to come along, grab a bargain, meet my rescue dog Poppy and show your support,” she added.

Ann started raising money for the charity three years ago and will be selling items on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week outside her home, 90 Boston Road South from 10am to 3.30pm.

If the weather is bad on one of the days, she will open on a Saturday instead.

“Please park on the drive or completely off the road because of the speed of traffic coming from the main road,” said Ann.
