Fun dog show helps raise cash

There were dogs of all shapes and sizes in Long Sutton at the weekend for a charity show.

Fun was very much the name of the game with classes including cutest puppy, best mover and the pet the judge would most like to take home.

The show, at Winfrey Park, on Sunday was organised to raise money for the Long Sutton Market House.

Show secretary Hayden Feetham said the event had exceeded all expectations with more than 55 entries.

“We also had six stalls with all kind of doggy items for sale. Refreshments were available at the British Legion Hall so everyone was catered for,” he said.

The pedigree Best in Show was a Leonberger while the best cross breed was awarded to a Rhodesian RIdgeback cross. The best in show novelty went to the Airedale terrier above.

There was also waggiest tail, best fancy dress and handler awards. The next event will be next year.
