Friends make the cut for charity

A woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer and her friend have had their heads shaved to raise money for charity.

Alison Gray, of Pinchbeck, wanted to give something back, so recently took on the hair-raising tribute to raise £1,500 for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

Alison roped friend Melanie Rowbottom from Surfleet in for the cut too.

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and had eight months of treatment,” Alison said.

“Since then I have wanted to do something to raise money for research into all types of cancer and my friend Melanie said she would like to do something too.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored us, and to Natalie at In-Trim Hair Salon in Pinchbeck for doing the honours.

“The support we have received for this fundraiser has been amazing.”
