Friends group is ship shape

A new group aiming to alleviate loneliness in Spalding continues to make waves.

The Spalding Friends Group has been set up on Facebook to put on events for people who might like some company.
Its most recent event saw attendees enjoy a ride on the Spalding Water Taxi where the relative strangers all enjoyed each others company.
It’s been set up by Abigail Ferrell and Claire Perry who decided to do something after moving to the area.
Already over 160 people have joined the private Facebook
Abi said: “The water taxi was really successful.
“They were very reasonable and really helpful running it for us.”
The group have organised four more events to take place for the remainder of this year.
They are Walk and Talks on November 25 and December 28.
There’s also a tea and cake event on December 3 and a Christmas Quiz on December 20.
Further details are available by joining the Facebook group for free.
As it grows the group are also looking for any venues that might be able to host events.
