Fram throw spanner in works

Hopes of revenge were dashed for Holbeach United by two long throw ins against Thurlow Nunn League Division One leaders Framlingham Town on Saturday.
The Tigers had felt hard done by to lose 5-1 in Suffolk a week earlier and were confident on home territory they had a chance to redress the balance.
However, they fell behind when a long throw found Johnny Kerridge and he headed in. Holbeach were keen to defend their impressive home record and struck back before half-time when Sam Carter struck from long range.
Hopes of securing victory to move into the play-off places were dashed with a repeat of the opening goal with Kerridge again on hand to head a long throw across goal and into the far corner of the net for the winner.
It is becoming a battle for just one play-off spot with the Tigers facing competition for fifth place from Harwich & Parkeston, Diss Town, Cornard, Dussindale and AFC Sudbury Reserves. Harwich hold it at the moment, a point ahead of Holbeach, who have played more than all their rivals but still have games to play against three of them. There is a 14-point gap to fourth-placed Holland.
Tigers: Rigby, Greenacre, Cook, Nicholson, Harris, Carter, Thorne, Barnes, Vieira, Frost, Compton. Subs: Yambasu, Ling, Oldham, Hoyle. Attendance: 98.
