Four-some Moulton Harrox go 15 points clear with super Stanground showing

Moulton Harrox’s amazing bid to become the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division’s invincibles continued on Tuesday night with a big 4-0 victory at AFC Stanground.

A first-half volley from Matt Watkin gave Harrox a 1-0 half-time lead at Yaxley’s In2itive Park 3G base, before top scorer Ollie Maltby, Joe Townsend and Ben Allen added further goals to propel Harrox 15 points clear at the top of the table.

It’s now 24 wins from 25 league games for unbeaten Moulton, who have just nine games left to play.

Boss Dave Panton was full of praise for the opposition, but admitted that his side executed their game plan perfectly to clinch three big points.

Panton said: “Stanground played a good game and put us under a lot of pressure In the first half.

HAPPY CAMPER: Dave Panton's side just keep on winning.
HAPPY CAMPER: Dave Panton’s side just keep on winning.

“I have to say well played to Stanground, but again the fantastic character shown within our team shone through again.

“To be able to withstand the high pressure they put us under in the first half and then simply apply our gameplan and execute the attacks was brilliant.

“The games are piling in and it’s hard playing twice a week at this level.

“The lads didn’t start well, but grew into the game and showed their fitness and talents to overcome a very fit Stanground team.

“Overall it’s another great result.”
