Football round-up: Pinchbeck held by Sleaford in opener, Holbeach soundly beaten at Skegness

The new Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North season got under way for South Holland sides on Wednesday night as Pinchbeck United drew 1-1 with Sleaford Town and Holbeach United lost 3-0 at Skegness Town.

Starting with the Knights, a goal from Enoch Opayinka gave Lewis Thorogood’s new-look side a 1-0 lead at the break at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

However, Jacob Fenton’s late goal ensured that the spoils were shared between two sides that have been battling at the wrong end of the table in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, two Danny Brooks penalties and a Jack Wightwick strike handed Holbeach a defeat at newly-promoted Skegness.

Both South Holland sides are in FA Cup action on Saturday, with Pinchbeck hosting Skegness and the Tigers at Long Eaton (both 3pm).
