Football round-up: Holbeach and Pinchbeck both fall at first hurdle in FA Cup

Both Holbeach United and Pinchbeck United were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup at the Extra Preliminary Round stage on Saturday.

The Tigers were handed a 4-1 reverse at Long Eaton United, while the Knights suffered a 1-0 home reverse against Skegness Town.

Starting with Holbeach, all looked to be going to plan for Phil Barnes’ side when Jordan Elston fired them into a 15th-minute lead at Grange Park.

But the new Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North side hit back to lead 2-1 at the break, before adding two more goals in the second half.

It was a lot closer at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field in another all-UCL Premier Division North showdown.

Pinchbeck held much-fancied Skegness up untill James Petronzio netted the solitary goal 15 minutes from time.
