Fisher flies to victory

Kime Racing rider Tom Fisher got his season off to a good start with a win in the first round of the No Limits Pirelli Super Series 600 championship at Snetterton on Sunday.
A wet qualifying session with poor visibility left the 2022 series runner-up in 20th position in a mixed grid of riders and ninth in his class with a lot of work to do in Sunday’s three races.
Despite a damp track, Fisher made a good start in the first race and was straight up to sixth place. He was promoted to fifth when another rider fell but was pushed back to sixth when Dave Grace passed him. Hopes of finishing higher were dashed when the race was red flagged on lap six after another crash.
Fisher was again away to a good start on a drying track in the second race. He began to pull in the riders ahead, setting the fastest lap of the race on the final lap with 1m 57.182s – 91.2mph to finish fifth.
He started the final race from pole position and had a race-long battle with Aaron Silvester as the lead was exchanged throughout the first six laps. Fisher then found that little extra and held the lead through the final three laps to take his first win of the new campaign.
The points accrued put Fisher third going into the next round at Cadwell Park on April 22/23.
