First national medal for coach Blanchard

Swimmers from South Lincs Swimming Club ended their season on a high, delivering remarkable performances across the board.

Club coach Luke Blanchard secured a silver medal in the men’s 18-24 age group at the Swim England Open Water National Championships in Rother Valley Country Park, his first national medal.
Five other swimmers carried the club’s success into the Swim England National Championships at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. Sigourney Bolton kick-started the events posting a strong 1.19.61 to secure 23rd place in the breaststroke 100m 14/15 year age group.
Emma Croker finished eighth in the 200m freestyle final with a time of 2.08.36.
The youngest club swimmer competing was Francesca Monaco, who made his national debut in the boys’ 12/13 age group 400m individual medley. He shaved an impressive 11 seconds off his personal best time, finishing 33rd in 5.31.62.
Oscar Goldsmith delivered a solid performance in the 400m individual medley, clocking 4.57.82 to finish 13th in his age group.
Rico Bringeman reached the 400m individual medley final with an exceptional swim, capping it by claiming his first national silver medal with a time of 4.37.09.
