Andy Molsom raced to a trio of top four finishes in the Caterham Graduates Racing Club meet at Anglesey over the weekend.
The first race on Saturday afternoon saw Molsom start sixth on the grid but, just seconds before the cars were let out onto the circuit, persistent rain began.
Molsom’s set-up was for a dry race, but he managed to race up to second place by the end of the third lap.
The rest of the race was about keeping the car on the road in the wet conditions, but he was passed by Stephen Arnell and settled for third.
Sunday’s race was dry and saw Molsom again start in sixth. But, after a battle, he made his way up to fourth by lap five.
On the penultimate lap, Molsom made a move around the outside into Rocket, a tight left-hander, but Arnell outbraked himself and lost rear traction – so Molsom had to take evasive action to ensure no contact and settled for fourth.
The afternoon race was also dry and Molsom again starting in sixth.
He reached as high as third before slipping down to fifth, then an overtake on Arnell near the end sealed another fourth.
Molsom said: “The first race was a good result, being on a harder set up wasn’t ideal for the conditions, but I capitalised on the conditions as best as I could.
“The weekend didn’t go quite to plan, with Barrett scoring more points in the dry races than what I gained in the wet race, which puts us closer on points in the championship.
“I am hoping for a wet weekend at Oulton Park next month!”
Molsom is now third in the championship with just six points between the top four drivers, with the final meeting of the season at Oulton Park in October – which will be his last race.
